My car enjoys being started in second gear because of the excess of torque. However, I wouldn’t advise starting in 5th. Ask me how I know.

I can technically can start in 5th, but the car shudders and reprimands me greatly for doing a bad.

I’m not sure if good is the word. If you’re applying that much throttle to get the car moving, surely you’d be aware if you’re any good! You should notice if you start in 2nd.

I started my Z31 in 5th once. Did the job. There was no excess of torque though in that car, let me tell you

Yep, that’s an old country trick. My car has so little power that starting in 1st isn’t too bad when it’s really icy.
